As my first post on this blog, I wanted to introduce a little about why you should care about Internet marketing for your local - brick and mortal - business.
Simply put... that's where the people who are looking for you are searching.
I'm going to be a little in your face here and say... I don't care if you think your business will grow just on word of mouth. If you relay on just one form of marketing, then you will lose. Think of it like this...
A patient of yours can and will tell a friend, but the friend that is told has other friends. It's highly likely that they were told about your competitor's service. And if you market your business then you can create a bigger word of mouth buzz.
Finally, I wanted to say that as the Internet gets bigger, it will begin to focus. That means that as more and more websites and information is released, Google and other search engines and even social media will begin to focus on all that content that's in your area.
In other words when somebody wants your service the results of their search will tend to be more and more local. That's the trend that is happening.
